Bringing Your Puppy Home

At Lover Berners, we understand that the final step in welcoming your new puppy into your home is a momentous occasion. We strive to make the pickup and delivery process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your new Bernese Mountain Dog, Mini Bernedoodle, or Tiny Bernedoodle to its forever home.

Pickup at Our Location

If you choose to pick up your puppy in person, we welcome you to our facility. Here’s how it works:

  1. Scheduling Your Visit: Once your puppy is ready to go home, typically at 8 weeks old, we will coordinate with you to schedule a pickup time that is convenient for your family.

  2. Preparation for Pickup: Before arrival, we will prepare all necessary documents including the health certificate, vaccination records, and your purchase receipt. We also provide a puppy starter pack that includes a small bag of the puppy’s current food, a toy, collar and leash.

  3. Visit Guidelines: During your visit, we will guide you through your new puppy’s daily routine, feeding regimen, and any special care instructions. This is a great time to ask any questions and interact with your puppy in their familiar environment.

Delivery to Your Home

For those who are unable to visit us in person, we offer a delivery service. Here’s what you need to know about our delivery options:

  1. Delivery Arrangements: We provide safe and comfortable travel arrangements for your puppy. We use trusted pet transport services that specialize in handling puppies with care during their journey.

  2. Costs Involved: Delivery costs depend on your location and the type of transport required. We will provide you with a detailed quote and all available options, so you can choose what works best for you.

  3. Receiving Your Puppy: Upon arrival, the transporter will hand over all necessary paperwork, your puppy’s starter pack, and take time to discuss your puppy’s needs and answer any questions. This ensures a smooth transition as your puppy adjusts to their new environment.

Health and Safety During Transport

We prioritize the health and safety of our puppies during transport:

  • Travel Ready: All puppies are examined by a veterinarian prior to departure to ensure they are healthy for travel.

  • Comfort Measures: We ensure that the puppy has a comfortable crate with ample space, along with water and suitable food for the journey.

  • Regular Updates: Transporter will keep you updated throughout the travel process, providing peace of mind knowing your puppy is safe and on their way.

Customer Responsibilities

Upon receiving your puppy, there are a few steps you should take to ensure a smooth introduction to its new home:

  • Prepare Your Home: Make sure your home is puppy-proofed with hazardous items out of reach and a comfortable sleeping area prepared.

  • Initial Vet Visit: We recommend scheduling a visit to your local veterinarian within the first week of arrival to confirm your puppy’s health status and continue any necessary vaccinations.
