We loved visiting Love Berners to adopt. Wilbur was waiting, two pens of excited pups waiting anxiously. We sat on the lawn and played with the pups - every little pup was beautiful, playful, and it was so hard to choose. Wilbur was warm and engaging, knowledgable, and willing to spend time as much time as we needed to make our decision. He even brought out Daisy (mom) so we could get a glimpse of what to expect when our puppy grows up. Watching mom welcome, comfort, and feed her pup was priceless. We couldn't have imagined a better experience. Afterward, we visited Darrel's Training Center (nearby trainer recommended by Wilbur) and we were equally impressed with his knowledge and friendly personality. Darrel's daughter was socializing one of Wilbur's pups that was recently adopted as we learned all about the training that our pup would receive before we picked her up to go home. The bottom line - Love Berner's and Darrels Training Center checked every box. Our Mini-Bernese, Arlo, has the sweetest, easy-going temperament and the "wagliest" tail, always so happy to see us! He is smart and loving. At 1 yo, he is 29 lbs. Windy Acres was extremely easy to work with and very responsive to our questions. Our Mini Bernese is a wonderful dog. He was easily trained and is so gentle and laid-back. We've had our female Mini Bernese Mountain Dog for 3 years and have loved every minute with her as a part of our family. This breed combination has proven to be a wonderful one for a family with young, active kids. She is gentle, loves all humans and most dogs, and she rarely barks. We take her everywhere; outdoor restaurants, ball games, music festivals, road trips. She's just so chill and happy all the time! If you're looking for a loud guard dog, you won't find it here ;) Shedding is as expected; twice a year it seems to be pretty bad but otherwise manageable with frequent brushing. We groom her at home. We would recommend Windy Acres Puppies, we couldn't be happier with our girl!
