What is the difference between a Mini Bernese vs a Bernalier?

They are the same breed. Originally, they were called Mini Bernese Mountain Dogs but people have just deviated from their name over time to try and make them sound different and to shorten the name. 

What Are Mini Bernese or Bernaliers?

Mini Bernese, Mini Berner, Mini Bernese Mountain Dog (BMD), Miniature Bernese, Mini BMD, or Bernalier are all the variety of names people call these pups. 

A Bernalier or Mini Bernese Mountain Dog is a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel to reduce the size and create a healthier breed.

The Mini Bernese is a small, healthy and robust breed, typically weighing between 20-40 pounds and standing about 16-22 inches tall. They inherit the best traits of the larger Bernese Mountain Dog—affectionate, loyal, and intelligent—making them wonderful family pets.

Miniature Bernese Coat Types

Mini Bernese coats typically feature black with rust or tan markings and white trimmings on the chest and feet. Their double coat offers protection against both heat and cold, and while they shed moderately throughout the year, they shed significantly less than the Bernese Mountain Dog. They also have minimal odor and drool less than other breeds.
